Disposal of beer pellets
Disposal of beer pellets
The disposal of brewery waste is necessary for each brewery — during the cooking and conversion of raw materials, in addition to the target product, crusher is also formed.
The essence of the problem
The composition of this type of food waste is water-insoluble pieces and a shell of barley grains with a high water content (up to 80%). Due to the «pure» biological nature, the presence of moisture and the past heat treatment, various bacteria appear in this mass after 1-2 days.
They form entire colonies, eat barley and grow, and 2-3 days after throwing away, the character changes, harmful and pathogenic properties appear. The appearance of parasites and rodents is very likely.
In parallel, barley itself begins to decompose — it releases carbon dioxide, ammonia and other gases into the atmosphere. Mixing with precipitation, moisture from a beer crab is able to poison soil and reservoirs.
Interestingly, for the CIS countries, beer crusher is considered just a waste — for other countries (primarily Europe) it is a semi-finished product with the possibility of further use.
Options
Due to its volume and mass, it is considered unprofitable to take out beer grits for processing or at least for farming. Until recently, breweries could find heaps of such waste — but with increased attention to the environment, the situation has changed.
Due to the rich organic nature (the composition includes fiber, proteins, acids, minerals and even vitamins), the crusher should be processed:
after drying and cleaning in separators, an additive is made for feeding animals — when mixed with the main food of the pig and cattle, very nutritious masses are obtained;
after thorough cleaning, the beer crusher is able to become a source of nutrients for various diets (cereals, bran products, etc.);
fuel from the dump is very decent in quality — biogas generated from it by pyrolysis allows you to significantly save on heating;
fertilizers — as a result of fermentation under controlled conditions.
It should be remembered that beer crusher has toxicity, so it necessarily needs to be processed.
Our work
Such operations and the necessary logistical equipment are available only to professionals. For example, we are engaged daily in the processing and disposal of all types of food waste — for example, beer crusher in our hands can become fertilizers, food additives or just high-calorie compost.
